For Schools

The safety and well being of students is important to every school. Teens tend to think they are invincible, and they don’t always understand the consequences of dangerous behavior. Texder’s Crusade educates in a non-preachy, entertaining way that resonates with teens. It features positive messaging, hands-on activities, and Wipeout, the life size pledge car. The program addresses the top ten driving distractions, not just texting or cell phone usage. Texder’s Crusade will spark conversation, engage, educate, and entertain — and ultimately help save lives.

Texder’s Crusade comes as a complete kit that delivers to your school. Most schools pick a student organization (SADD, Student Council, Honors Academy, etc.) to take ownership of the campaign. School Resource Officers often like to be involved in the program. Every school is different. We provide all the Crusade components, and you decide how you would like to utilize them.

What You Get

Wipeout Pledge Car

Wipeout is a life-size car that everyone signs as part of their pledge to avoid distracted driving. We suggest placing Wipeout at the school entrance, in a large hallway, or the cafeteria — any high traffic area that maximizes exposure.

Build Your Own Hot Rod!

Complete build instructions are included in the kit — and don’t worry, Wipeout can be assembled in ten easy steps! Watch the time lapse video below.

Texder’s Lessons

Texder and his friends have created a series of video lessons that demonstrate what NOT to do behind the wheel. These lessons address the top ten driving distractions. You can choose to show the lessons as part of morning announcements, email a daily reminder link to all students, or simply provide the URL for everyone to watch on their own.

Team Building Challenges and Activities

These hands-on team building activities show exactly how hard it is to do two things at once. Teams compete in these intentionally difficult distracted driving challenges, learning and laughing the whole time.

Community Engagement

Your school will have its own online pledge page where the rest of the community can take Texder’s Distracted Driving pledge. View a sample page here. Online participants have the option of pledging on behalf of a specific student, which means you can run this as an internal contest amongst your students, or as a competition against rival school(s). We’ll provide the list of all online pledge participants back to you.

Sponsorship

Many schools reach out to business and community partners to sponsor Texder’s Crusade, either through a single corporate sponsorship or a combination of multiple organizations that pitch in to pay for the program.
